Julie Boutin Speight graduated with an Associates of Science degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from Our Lady of the Lake College in 2017. Julie first began her career as a certified Physical Therapy Technician in an outpatient clinic. Deciding to further her education into PTA schooling, she was able to build her therapy knowledge base using her communication skills and collaborating with other team members. Her goal is to effectively enhance each patient’s overall experience by ensuring a safe and inviting atmosphere. During her time in the Physical Therapy Assistant program, she volunteered with some of her favorite charities and organizations including Charlie’s Place for Alzheimer’s Services, Women's and Children's Hospital-Pediatrics Specialty Clinic, and the Baton Rouge Wheelchair Tennis Association, where she was able to share her love and compassion with young children and adults with wheelchair bound disabilities. She has work experience in several settings including in-patient acute hospital care, in-patient rehabilitation, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient rehabilitation. Julie has a special interest in treating general orthopedics, the geriatric population, stroke patients, Parkinson-related disorders, and has a tremendous passion for patients with down syndrome. Julie provides both a hands-on manual approach as well as an exercise and Pilates-based approach to the treatment of the spine and extremity pain. She enjoys establishing functional home-based exercise programs incorporating patient and family education to ensure the best possible outcome. Julie is enthusiastic about new opportunities to grow clinically and looks forward to making a positive impact as she continues to serve the local community with the highest quality of care possible. Julie plans on pursuing continuing education courses to further her knowledge and specializing in treatment of the spine.
